The spelling Bee festivity this year as always was a very exciting experience decorated with yellow and blue ribbons and bees. Our students studied a wide range of words during the first round and competed during their class time for the three best scores and certificates evidenced Round 1 top three winners. The students that made it to the next round spent their days brushing up on old and possible new words.
The second round of the Spelling Bee was held in the Elementary Section Library where the top two students from each class in their grade competed for the title of Spelling Bee champ. Words were randomly selected for each student ranging in levels of difficulty. The atmosphere was focused and serious as students were asked to spell the various words by the announcer assigned for that grade level.
The judges were chosen from other grades to ensure unbiased and fair judgments and they enjoyed observing the advanced spelling skills that our students demonstrated. Parents, siblings and teachers from other grades attended Round 2 and shared these memorable moments with us.
The Spelling Bee was a complete success as the competition drew to a close for each grade naming their top 3 spellers. It was a great way to celebrate our top spellers.
