Elementary Section Parents Welcome Letter

Dear Parents and Guardians,

It is our pleasure to extend a warm and heartfelt welcome you to another exciting year at Al Ittihad Private School’s Elementary Section.  We are dedicated to provide a rich educational foundation for our students.

 

Focus 2014-2015

This year we will focus on our mission to encourage each child to become a lifelong learner in our safe and challenging teaching environment.

Our learning outcomes imbedded in creativity and innovative life skills, critical thinking and problem solving strategies, communication, information technology and English and Arabic Literacy skills, will set high standards for each student to enable them to make integrated learning connections. 

 

Parent involvement

 In order to achieve the maximum educational growth for your child, a collaborative partnership between you and our school is needed and encouraged. Your involvement with your child’s education is vital to his/her academic success.

You are welcome to schedule an appointment with the section’s principal or staff members by contacting our section’s secretary Ms. Alaa Tattan, at 2966314-04   ext. 278 Parents are not allowed to visit teachers during teaching time. Healthy living

We promote a healthy life style across the school and within our canteen. We focus on healthy food and therefore encourage our students to eat healthy. Chocolates, crisps, candies and fuzzy drinks are not allowed and should not replace fruit, raw vegetables, fruit juices, water and healthy sandwiches. We wish to request our parents to support us by packing healthy lunch boxes and water for their children.

Parents are requested to display their child’s name, grade, and section on their children’s lunch boxes, lunch bags, stationary, books and inner sides of their school uniform. School Uniform

Our ‘back to school uniform range’ with the brilliant style for both boys and girls are available from our suppliers. Please note the following contact details of our supplier: Emirates Industries, Dubai, Al Deyafa Street, Hana Centre.

This collection includes everything you need to kit your children for the new term. We urge our parents to support us in teaching your children to wear the proper school uniform every day and to wear proper black school shoes with their uniform. Trainers are only allowed on the days allocated for Physical Education.

 

Stationery

Class teachers will inform parents of the stationery needed for all students which should be labelled and available in their pencil cases every day.

 

Parents’ contract:  

All our partners are reminded to support us by signing a contract in order to secure their children’s registration at Al Ittihad Private School. This is a KHDA requirement.

 

Website: Teaching and learning

In order to keep our parents up to date with the objectives for teaching and learning, and to contribute to a green environment, we plan to communicate with our parents through our school’s website. Information circulars issued by our Senior Management team and Main Administration as well as Monthly Newsletters from our Elementary Section’s teachers will be uploaded on the website in order to provide our parents with information on curriculum content, assignments, trips  and research projects planned for a month per grade in advance.  

 

School Attendance and Punctuality

We encourage our student to attend school regularly and to be punctual and reward them accordingly during weekly assemblies.

Grade group assemblies will take place every day of the week at 7:40 a.m. and parents are all invited to join us during the morning assemblies for their children’s grade group presentation.  Students are encouraged to participate and to demonstrate the core values of the school such as: (Respect, Responsibility, Safety, Quality, Collaboration and Integrity)

 

 I anticipate an exciting year at Al Ittihad Elementary Section as we collectively strive to foster a culture of learning. I feel extremely fortunate to be working with such an exceptional group of students, families, and staff members and look forward to meeting all our students and their families.
